The Waterhouse Project is dead… long live The Waterhouse! – Gabriel Waterhouse and wife Patricia Wakaimba shuttered their first London restaurant in Bethnal Green in June 2026 only to open this sequel in nearby Hackney, behing Columbia Road, in August 2026. The ‘Project’ in the name was dropped in the process. The new venue occupies a Victorian warehouse space and is promoted as offering ‘modern Northumbrian’ cuisine – a Scandi-eque style ‘inspired by the landscapes and traditions of the North East of England and Scotland’ (and Gabriel’s childhood home). At one sitting only, with a maximum group-size of four, you can enjoy an 11-course tasting menu for £125 per person, with matching wine of £75 per person (or BYO at £45 corkage). Allow two and a half hours for the meal, which is served at 1pm at weekends and 7.15pm on Thursday-Saturday evenings. Reports please!
