Treves is the first floor restaurant, now overseen by chef Connor Hayes; Hyde is the ground floor coffee shop and bar.
Harden's survey result
At the foot of a new aparthotel near Aldgate East tube, this year-old venture comprises a coffee shop and terrace downstairs, and a restaurant and bar upstairs, which – under seasoned chef George Tannock – tries harder than you might expect in this location: “a welcome, local, go-to business lunch place, with an excellent and varied menu and staff who are efficient but welcoming”.
With a coffee shop and terrace downstairs, and a restaurant and bar upstairs, this new operation near Aldgate East tube – part of a boutique Aparthotel complex – covers all the bases – even brunch at weekends. No survey feedback yet, but positive press reports on its small plates from chef George Tannock.
For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
