Harden's survey result
“Candlelit meals in a red-painted, cosy dining room, with wonderful views to the harbour and mountains” win raves for this distant venue – an “exceptional” spot with a very highly rated five-course tasting menu, matched by a predominantly French wine list. “Such a wonderful place, and well worth our drive of 550 miles to get there!”
An “unfailingly excellent” (and very remote) hotel with “views to Suilven from the lounge and dining room across Lochinver harbour”; the fixed 5-course menu is “brilliant”, and there’s a “sensibly priced wine list with an emphasis on France”. “We have been 9 times even though it’s 600 miles away!” Top Tip – the owners recently “opened another pub (The Caberfeidh) in the village”.
A “remote” but “magical” restaurant-with-rooms “perched above Lochinver harbour with Suilven visible from the dining room”; it combines the “warmest of welcomes”, food that “delights the palate and heart” and wine “with a clear French bias”.
