There’s a good range of eating options, including “tasting menus to die for”, “memorable breakfasts”, “the most beautiful afternoon teas, with scones and Jersey Black Butter”; plus a “varied and interesting wine list”.
“The food here is at the top end of the excellent scale, and there’s great attention to detail in respect of everything” at Stephen Smith’s famous St Helier dining room, whose ambience received a much-needed boost a couple of years ago, making it a very strong all-rounder nowadays.

Given Stephen Smith’s “sensational”, much accoladed cuisine, fans say “the new décor is the final missing link in the push to make Bohemia seem stand-out special”.
Oddly mixed feedback of late from this celebrated St Helier dining room; most reports do support the view that Stephen Smith’s cuisine is “the best on the island”, but it’s pricey, and the experience can be tainted by staff who are “too impressed with themselves”, or “zero ambience”.
Steve Smith @ Bohemia has enjoyed a spectacular year being awarded the highest accolade by The AA and taking the restaurant to 5 AA Rosettes one of only 15 in the country. This news was swiftly followed by the retention of the Michelin Star as well as being listed in The Good Food Guide 2018 as the 11th Best Restaurant in the UK. Steve’s taste inspired menus offer something for everyone with set lunch menus available from £24.95 and six course tasting experiences starting from £45.00 per person.
Since joining Bohemia in 2013 Steve has racked up an impressive list of accolades such as being named Catey Chef of the Year, being listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants with special praise given for desserts 6th in the UK for restaurants to enjoy dessert in.

We are delighted to have Steve Smith in residence as Bohemia’s executive chef. Steve is rightly recognised as one of the world’s most distinguished chefs. He has held a Michelin star for over 15 years from the age of 24 and has continued to grow his reputation ever since.
Bohemia is very proud to have been awarded 5 AA Rosettes taking the dining room into the top 5% of establishments in the country and has been ranked as the 11th best restaurant in the UK by The Good Food Guide 2018. Bohemia is the only restaurant in the Channel Islands to be featured with this accolade and outranks some of the most famous restaurants cementing Bohemia firmly on the international culinary map.
Steve Smith’s accolades since joining Bohemia in 2013 also include, Michelin Star, Catey Chef of the Year and being the only restaurant in the Channel Islands to feature in The Sunday Times Top 100 – with special praise being given to Bohemia’s desserts which were listed ‘6th Best in the UK’. In addition, OpenTable diners chose Bohemia as one of the top 20 most romantic restaurants as well as one of the top 100 best restaurants in the UK. Square Meal also lists Bohemia has one of the best restaurants in the UK.
Steve has created a truly outstanding dining experience with his ingredient and flavour driven tasting menus. He ensures that Bohemia has an ever-evolving seasonal menu featuring fresh and exciting dishes. Steve’s menus have a heavy focus on local ingredients and celebrate seasonal fruits and vegetables. The majority of ingredients such as the famous Jersey Royal Potato and fresh scallops and oysters are locally sourced.
The Bohemia team have collectively established the restaurant as not only a place to eat but one that has become a wonderful and exciting dining experience.
