Paul & Lorraine Willoughby’s old stone pub with rooms, north of Grantham near the A1, has been revitalised in recent years in tasteful country house style (linen tablecloths etc). Feedback is more limited than we would like, but all reports rate the experience highly, including the fairly traditional British cooking.
“A gem of an old stone pub tucked away on the crest of a hill in rural Lincolnshire (yet less than 5 miles from the A1)”. “The panelled dining is painted a deep sea green and makes for an intimate dining experience”. Dishes are “interesting, well presented and fresh-tasting and there are excellent wines by the glass”.
A popular, scenically located village gastroboozer combining “restaurant-quality food” and solid service.
Brownlow Arms Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Very tasty food in a friendly pub. Starters were ok, but mains (we both had the Lamb Rump) were excellent - full of flavour and well cooked vegetables - we both enjoyed this a lot. Shared a lovely chocolate dessert. Wine list is brief, but reasonable. Glad we found this lovely place (thanks to Hardens) after an appalling meal the night before."
