“Well worth a visit”, an Italian small plates spot (also with a Leeds spin-off), whose “regularly changing menu goes a little off-piste” at times but is “usually great”; it’s “buzzy and great fun for an informal night out” (an especially fun night if you try the “exceptional” Negronis).

The “regularly changing seasonal and regional menus” go down a treat at this Italian small plates operation near the Convention Centre, named after ‘stuzzichini’ – the snacks served in Venetian osterias. There’s a “friendly and highly knowledgeable team with an understanding of the menu, ingredients and provenance”, plus a “great and reasonably priced wine list”. A second branch has opened in Leeds.

There’s a “nice buzz” about this “trendy, artisan foodie restaurant with fabulous, ever-changing Italian small plates”, opposite Harrogate Convention Centre. ‘Stuzzichini’ are snacks typically served by Venetian osterias – but don’t worry about minuscule portions: this is “hugely enjoyable and satisfying food”, offered by “knowledgeable staff” alongside “some impressive wines”. They recently opened in Leeds too.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
