“Cheap, cheerful and authentic” cafés in Chinatown and Bayswater “popular with Malaysian expats”. Most order the “superb noodles”, while the “aggressive ginger drinks” offer another blast of southeast Asian flavour. “Not as inexpensive as they used to be, but worth it”.
“Ignore the Formica! The flavours and smells are pure Malaysia” at this “café-style” venue, in Chinatown (with a glossier offshoot in Bayswater). “If you like South East Asian food, this is the place to find it” – “made fresh and brought quickly” – and it’s “fantastic value for money”.
“I get frustrated if people want to eat anywhere else!” – its small fanclub adores this little, “cheap ’n’ cheerful” Malaysian café in Chinatown (its glossier Bayswater offshoot never inspires much feedback). Top Menu Tip – “fabulous Laksa”.
“A stand-out in Chinatown” – the original West End branch of this Malaysian duo, serving “excellent”, “cheap” food that’s “a great approximation of the real thing” (high marks for the lesser known Bayswater outlet too). Top Menu Tip – “the best Laksa in the UK!”
