Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"A good pub with a popular restaurant. A large car park is a bonus, the building is very nice. Tables are close together and our party of 4 were unable to accept the first table we were offered. The food was the usual offerings, although the portions are generous and the "surf and turf" was very good. My starter of a classic prawn cocktail was good despite the rather tired lettuce. The wine selection is typical but cost friendly. Overall, a reasonable cost-effective experience."
