Summary
“Continuing to turn out some really quality cooking at remarkably low prices” – this surprise find is to be discovered behind a garden centre in the Eden Valley. “Inflation has reached the tiny village of Culgaith and the two-course set lunch (say parsnip soup and a mighty good looking fish ’n’ chips) is now a whole £9! That doesn’t even get you a starter most places. Service superficially seems a bit tea-shoppy, but is efficient and well trained. The décor isn’t going to win any restaurant design awards, but the loos provide some excellent reading matter, as they are papered with menus from a number of illustrious restaurants”.
