"Stayed over as a birthday treat - which just happened to coincide with their amazing deal of if you spend over £225 in the restaurant you get a free hotel room. And the hotel room was really a cottage. A wine list with a very good selection made getting to the £225 pretty easy. We ordered the max mixed platter that came on a 4 foot long board - made us speachless from (a) surprise, and (b) having to work at eating the volume of food! The scallops gratin were exceptional, the goujons were really almost what you get in a chip shop. Well cooked steak, all in all a splendid meal and certainly worthy of a celebration. The morning after breakfast was also very nicely cooked to order. "
