Harden's says

A new establishment from nearby Osip's Merlic Labron-Johnson. In a 16th century former pharmacy (hence the name), it's an evening small-plates restaurant and wine bar and daytime French-style epicerie using local products.

Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

We had high expectations of this restaurant...

"We had high expectations of this restaurant, having previously eaten at OSIP which we rated highly. This was a huge disappointment. The choice of food is highly limited: not even desserts on the menu. There were 4 of us who lunched here. The food we had was good but not amazing. We had a few portions of bread, 2 charcuterie plates (£10 each) but small portions, 3 portions of Ragu (Italian pasta) and a daily sandwich plus sparkling and tap water, a bottle of the cheapest red wine (£31) but a decent Italian wine and 4 coffees. The bill came to £168.77 which was extremely expensive for what we had as well as including a 12.5% service charge. Bruton has got a little above itself and should not be charging London prices. The place was adequate but not worth travelling for and definitely overpriced."
