Harden's survey result
“Now named after the chef, Dan Moon”, the “beautiful, albeit formal” dining room of this luxe Georgian city-centre hotel delivers “exceptional food”, although it’s “not inexpensive” outside of the “brilliant midweek lunch deals” (“no more than lunch at your local pub!”). Continue the indulgence at the celebrated on-site spa.
The July 2017 renaming of the restaurant is a vote of confidence in head chef Dan Moon at this luxury 5-star in the heart of the city, whose dining room is praised in the survey for “faultless cooking that’s utterly delicious and pretty as a picture on the plate… and good value for such excellence too!” If you need to entertain on business in the city, you’ll struggle to find a better venue.
Dan Moon at The Gainsborough Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Fine dining, yes, but relaxed and extremely enjoyable with affordable wines and first class service to boot. Always a pleasure to eat out here!"
"Consistent and wonderful modern English fine dining with amazingly good value 2 for 1 midweek lunch deal. Dan Moon doesn’t deserve a Michelin Star. He deserves two! He really is that good!"
"Consistently great fine dining food in a smart but relaxed dining room of a five star city centre hotel. Why the tyre people haven’t awarded a star yet is a mystery as the food is more than worthy. Worth going just for the wonderful breads and amazing butters which preced the main event!"
