Next up from The Oystermen

The duo behind Covent Garden’s The Oystermen will this month open an all-day brasserie nearby, taking inspiration from both Paris and Manhattan.

Thirty7, at number 37 Bedford Street, is just a few doors from Bedford Street Wines, the wine bar and bottle shop also owned by Matt Lovell and Rob Hampton (pictured), whose list highlights small family producers and independent craft brewers.

The new venue has a street-level dining room and basement bar, while its kitchen is run by chef Grant Clark, who has worked at Breslin and Hearth in New York as well as Cafe Murano and Jason Atherton’s Harrods Social in London.

The menu features fish – no surprise there – alongside such dishes as spice-roast Cornish ‘Cull Yaw’ mutton and a thirty7 burger served with raclette and Dijon mayonnaise.

As to what we can expect, The Oystermen is highly rated for its food in the 2024 Harden’s guide, where it is described as “a brilliant little place” that defies its location in such a touristy area.
