Nidderdale’s picturesque Yorke Arms put up for sale

Ramsgill-in-Nidderdale’s Yorke Arms hotel – one of the UK’s best dining destinations and a top scorer in our annual survey for many years – has been put up for sale for a reported £1.75 million. The 16 bedroom “old coach house/shooting lodge which enjoys a fabulous, picturesque setting” near Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, was bought by chef Frances Atkins and her husband Bill more more than 20 years ago.

Under Atkin’s watchful eye the kitchen has turned out “wonderfully prepared, beautifully presented” cuisine “using the finest ingredients the Dales terroir can offer”, while in the dining room “nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff”. Let’s hope that the magic will continue under the new owners.
