Summary

“Chef-owner Kevin Mangeolles and his wife run a very efficient ship” (and an extremely “charming” one too) at this “marvellous” 18th-century coaching inn, which offers “unexpectedly fine dining” (with “lots of local produce”) in “lovely”, remote surroundings. If you wish to stray beyond the more standard set menus, there is a 9-course tasting option.

Summary

“The coastal leader in north Norfolk”; Kevin Magneolle’s “very-out-of-the-way” 18th-century coaching inn matches up his well-honed culinary skills with “memorable” locally-sourced ingredients and “charming” service; “simple but comfortable accommodation” too.

Summary

“Fabulous food on a par with anything in London”, and “relaxed yet attentive service” too makes the Mangeolle family’s “sophisticated” 18-century coaching inn very “difficult to fault”.

"Fine cooking from a very hands on husband and wife team, not overpriced and with 4 choices for each course. Starters came after an amuse bouche, sole with mussel dressing and crisp Iberico ham and a Norfolk quail with various trimmings stylishly presented. Mains of Goosnargh duck good, the braised Dexter short rib perhaps needed another cut along with it as it was rather just a lump of beef otherwise. An excellent apple parfait was the main component of one dessert and a cream caramel had a fine mint ice cream. Selection of wines by the glass as well as an interesting list. The chef has paced things so he can bring out many dishes personally."
