Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“A choice of booths or tables” adds to the “discreet”, “quiet” and business-friendly, clubland-appeal of the Parker Bowles family’s St James’s “stalwart”; “very classic British food” (majoring in fish) is well-served – “the quality is the highest… and so are the prices”.
Simon Parker Bowles’s “clubby” bastion of the St James’s Establishment “remains absolutely as it always has been”, and its loyal clientele – who enjoy its unhurried meals of “unadventurous” English fare – would’t have it any other way; a move, possibly to Mayfair, is on the cards for late-2015.
For “classic British nursery fare in the heart of clubland”, it’s hard to match Simon Parker Bowles’s “marvellously old-fashioned” stalwart; some change is afoot however – it may move in 2014 to the old Wheeler’s premises, by St James’s Palace; the EC3 branch is no more.
February 2016: It was announced that Green's is searching for a new home as the site it has occupied for the past 34 years is to be demolished by the Crown Estate. The restaurant will close on 23 April.

"Went here after shopping at Fortnum's. A little disappointing - rather old school startchy and "hotel-like" food."
