“The most idyllic setting” and an extensive wine list add to the charms of this out-of-the-way pub, near Exeter: “perfection on a sunny day”. The food hits mostly highs with the odd low, but if solace is required, it’s at hand in a huge wine list, and a range of 250 whiskies.
A “great pub off the beaten track” near Exeter, where the “extensive” and “interesting” wine list continues to be of particular note; the food? – “reliable rather than outstanding”.
It’s the extensive wine list – offering “seriously good value-for-money” – which is the “real star” of this country boozer; fans insist, though, that it also offers “the best pub food in Devon”!
“Wow, what a setting!” – this “old-fashioned inn in the middle of nowhere” pleases all reporters with its “unpretentious but stellar” cooking and “excellent wine list”; the cheese board is “particularly worth trying”.
