For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
Hans Schweitzer’s “spectacularly good” cuisine is an “11/10” for practically all who report on this peripherally located spot (on a busy road, near the Grafton Centre). “Italian in inspiration, the food is simply gobsmackingly gorgeous and especially the desserts; lovely staff and a cosy feel to the place all add up to make this smallish restaurant a romantic highlight – and there aren’t too many in Cambridge!”
“The location leaves much to be desired” (an “out-of-the-way” spot, on a busy road near the Grafton Centre) but all reporters are mightily impressed by Hans Schweitzer’s brave and experimental dining room. His “distinctive and imaginative” cuisine is “meticulous in its presentation and the ingredients used”, and – “it shows that he’s a pâtissier by trade” – his “wonderfully complicated” puddings are “the beautifully presented pièce de résistance”.
“An oasis”; the setting may be on the “quirky” side (entered via a café), but the cuisine at this “unobtrusively experimental” dining room can be “fantastic” – it may help that “the menu is designed to offer something for both safe and more adventurous diners”.
“Just lovely every time we go”; despite its “strange location” (you enter through a café), this fine dining venture “never disappoints”, thanks to its “spectacularly good” cuisine, from a “thoughtful menu making the most of local and seasonal produce”.
Cotto Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Dined with friends for a birthday celebration last evening (26/7/2017). Absolutely first class in every respect. Hans (and Ruth) lead a great team. Food is unquestionable as is the service. Highly recommend as one of the finest and best dining experiences anywhere."
