Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
A “lovely, traditional inn with good local produce”; one reporter was “a bit underwhelmed”, but not sure why… perhaps it’s because, as another suggests, what was once “County Durham's answer to a proper gastropub” is now “trying too hard”.
“Fine locally-sourced fresh fare” from a “no-nonsense” menu that’s “sensibly priced” too enables this “lovely” inn to attract “not just many visitors, but the locals too”.
A “lovely well-appointed inn, with very comfortable accommodation, set in a delightful village in the heart of the English countryside”; “seriously good” food and “super-willing service” complete its winning formula.
