In “an odd location on a busy Bloomsbury road”, an “interesting little organic place”, where eco-consciousness is a theme, and “excellent seasonal ingredients are the focus”; even fans feel the cooking “needs to sharpen up”, though, and the “squashed-in” dining room, in the style of a “railway carriage”, is no particular advantage.

Despite the fact that some of the fare at this King's Cross newcomer “misfired”, and there were some service “cock-ups”, the ecofriendly Acorn House is “model” from which the rest of the industry can learn, says the critic. “It looks good, it tastes good, and by golly it does you good.”
