A decent “cheap ’n’ cheerful” Bayswater pan-Asian stand-by; it seemingly offers a “lengthy” menu, but “quite a few of the popular dishes aren’t always available”.

Meat/fish: 3/10 points; Cooking: 8/10 points; Char kuay teow: 8; Score: 6.33; Price: You could get out for around a tenner. I paid £61 for two but way overdid it.
Malaysian restaurants seem to be a critical rage this week. Giles finds this unpretentious Queensway spot – with its “nice” fare and its “giant” portions – simply “exemplary”.

The room itself “may be no beauty”, but this new Queensway Malaysian is “clean and bright and bustly, and you can hardly complain about a cheap and cheerful decor when the food is cheap and brilliant”. Service was “warm and smiley” too, and “the bill absurdly small for the quality of food and the size of the serving”.
