Owner's description

Lamberts is a modern British seasonal restaurant, offering excellent food and wine in relaxed and friendly surroundings. We love food and believe a restaurant should reflect all that is good about eating and drinking.

We are passionate about ethical produce and maintaining the countryside: We use local suppliers, many of them small family firms, and endeavour to use only the finest, often organic, seasonal ingredients.

Our seasonal menu changes regularly. Old favourites sit side by side with modern interpretations of classic dishes – all complimented by a balanced wine list featuring some exciting bottles at sensible prices.

We very much look forward to seeing you soon!

Joe Lambert

"They need to do something about the decor, it is non-existent and makes you feel like you are in a cafe. Which is a shame as the food is delicious and the service is friendly."

"This place defines the difference between excellent food and 'fine dining'. The concentration is on the ingredients, the quantity is sufficient to enjoy the food rather than just to taste it; it's on what the dish requires rather than what it looks like. Mallard, ox-cheek and pulled pork all most enjoyable. Service friendly and warm. Wine list reasonable."
