October 2017: Tom Kerridge (celebrity chef and owner of two celebrated dining pubs outside London) has announced that his takeover of The Rib Room has fallen through. Jumeirah Carlton have re-opened The Rib Room without the planned refurbishment that was promised when Tom's involvement was announced at the end of 2016.

For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
This luxurious Sloane Street address, long known as a temple to roast beef and steak – will reopen in late 2017 as the new London vehicle for Marlow’s ‘Hand & Flowers’ chef, Tom Kerridge. What we know from the PR so far: it will keep the name, it will evoke the spirit of Knightsbridge in the swinging ’60s (groovy baby), and it will aim to be good value (not something the site has achieved hitherto).
This luxurious Belgravia haunt has its fans – “such a special treat” – but the appeal is qualified: “the eponymous rib of beef is splendid but not really backed up by other items”, and “to price it at the same level as the Ledbury and Ritz is considerably too high”.
“A real treat in every respect” – this luxurious, well-spaced Belgravia dining room is firing on all cylinders after its revamp last year; as well as the top-quality roast beef and grills for which it’s long been famous, the “seasonal menus show true skill and inventiveness”.
If only all hotel makeovers were as successful as the rejuvenation of this “spacious” Belgravia dining room – “a high quality traditional experience”, now offering what fans say is “the best roast beef in London”, albeit at “huge” cost.
