“A gem of a location” (a Queen Anne house) adds to the appeal of the Pitchfords’ long-running (est. 1977) local destination – “always an occasion”, say fans, thanks to its “high standards” (with “lunch particularly good value”); it can also seem “dated”, though, and takes some flak for service “on auto-pilot”.
