“Wholesome yet inventive dishes, splendid beers, great warm fires and a friendly atmosphere” – one reporter neatly sums up the charms of this remote Lakeland inn.
It’s not hard to see why fans of this “out-of-the-way” inn regard it as “the ultimate ‘safe’ Lakeland destination”, given its “great value for money, fantastic location, excellent beer, and cosy interior too!”
“A must for lunch, if you are walking in the area”, this “traditional Lakeland pub” remains a “longtime favourite” for all the reporters who comment on it; attractions include a “great choice of beers”, and “open fires” too.
The Masons Arms Restaurant Diner Reviews
"It is hard to find good places to eat in the Lake District but this is definitely one to recommend. Start with the view which is amazing from the terrace. There is a vast menu, indeed so large that we wondered how they could keep so much fresh food around. We have a smoked fish starter size which was large enough for a main course with a saddle of rabbit which was really tasty and tender. Last some decent ice cream , again from a long list. Yes they do have most of the typical local fare of fish and chips but here they offer slim line versions! Only caveat is that inside space is limited so perhaps not the eat place in wet weather."
