Summary

“So different from Chinatown a hundred yards south!” – this “unpretentious” but “welcoming” Soho “refuge” maintains a big following thanks to its “smiling staff” (overseen by “convivial host, William”) and food that’s been “steadfastly good” over many years (if a tad “predictable”).

Summary

A “haven”, an “oasis”, “the best Chinese in Soho”… Christine Yau’s “effortlessly pleasing” corner “stalwart” has been “consistent for years”“maitre d’ William is the host with the most”, and “the food always hits the mark”.

Summary

“Always a star for 30 years” – Christine Yau’s “calm” and “rock-solid” Soho Chinese “marches serenely on”, and head waiter William “always has a warm welcome”; main complaint about the “consistently high-quality food”? – it’s “too good to be so cheap!”

"Condemned by Crossrail (along with the neighbouring Curzon Cinema) the end of Yming nears as the owner and staff have decided to retire. It will be the end of an institution - and some very good food."

"Service here is superb, especially in comparison with other West End offerings. The food is very tasty and the set menus are excellent value. Staff are unusually warm and friendly, and they remember who you are from last time."
