“Caring” staff and “satisfying” Spanish-influenced food have made a bit of a name for this “always-buzzy” stalwart of the west-Pimlico wasteland; prices are quite high, though, and some meals this year seemed rather “rough and ready”.

"On 16 Feb 15, We had quite the best meal we have had in a very long time at About Thyme. The food and service were truly outstanding. For example my wife is on a very restrictive diet for medical reasons - and yet not only were there 2 or 3 suitable dishes for both starters and main, but the owner stressed he was happy to alter any of the dishes to suit her; he then delighted to rustle up the best gluten free rolls she has ever tasted. Considering the quality of food "

"Food hovers between a 2 and a 3 in my opinion: beautifully presented and tasty, but without the wow factor. I liked the flavoursome mash but the accompanying cod was just a bit too delicately flavoured. Similarly the traditional almond tart was pleasantly tasty but lacked oomph. Service was helpful and attentive. I liked the bistro ambience downstairs and was impressed by the somewhat more spacious and modern ambience upstairs. Cost for 2 mains, 1 starter, 1 dessert and. 2 glasses of wine came to £70"
