Abstract – Inverness

Set in a stylishly converted barn, Paul Hales and Paul Salisbury’s Baraset Barn follows in the footsteps of their other successful ventures – The Boot, Orange Tree Stable and Crabmill. The wide-ranging menu has won a host of local fans.

The Cabinet – Reed, Nr Royston, Hertfordshire

With the help of head chef Paul Macguire, new owners Simon Smith and Mark Hagger have managed to maintain the excellent standards of food and great service expected by local fans of this stunningly converted 16th-century inn.

Forbury's – Reading

Chef José Cau and fellow patron Xavier Le-Bellego are used to winning accolades, having spent time at The Waterside Inn at Bray and Le Gavroche respectively. This winning combination has led to an innovating menu, delivered with flair, earning Forbury’s a reputation as a real Thames Valley gem.

The Priory Inn – Tetbury, Gloucestershire

Russel's – Broadway, Worcestershire

Owners Barry Hancox and Andrew Riley have pooled more than 30 years’ experience in the hotel and restaurant industry to create this ‘restaurant-with-rooms’, nestled at the heart of the picturesque village of Broadway. Local produce and seasonal dishes take centre stage.

Secco Ristorante Salentino – Newcastle

Cristina, Aldo and Joseph De Giorgi have injected their own blend of ‘la dolce vita’ into Secco Ristorante Salentino. The menu mirrors the cooking styles of the Salento region of Italy, with fresh fish, seafood dishes and hearty, rustic food cooked simply and slowly.
