“Beautiful location, concept and food” – the verdict on this unusual ethical venue, which lies “adjacent to a working Victorian walled garden”, making it “great for children in summer”.
“You feel you are going back to the roots of good eating” at this “very different” ethical establishment in a “relaxed” Victorian walled garden – “stunning fresh food” is “grown in the gardens” just beyond, and there’s an “unbeatable view from the full-wall window”.
“There is something magical about the Ethicurean”; from “the wonderful, creative and wholesome food”, to the setting in a “quaint Victorian walled garden” with valley views, this ethical venture is “a must for those who want to feel connected to what they eat”; “drinks work too!”
“Set in a restored orangery in a lovely walled garden, with views across the valley to the Mendip Hills”, this ‘ethical’ restaurant “uses only local produce, a lot of it from their own garden”; no good if the food doesn’t measure up, of course, but all reports say it’s “original”, with “vivid flavours”, and “served with love”.
Ethicurean Restaurant Diner Reviews
"We had the tasting menu -- not sure if they do a la carte. Each dish was fantastic, imaginative use of very fresh vegetables. But taken together the menu was much of the same: 4 of the 5 dishes looked very similar, although there were differences in their delightful taste. Good value prices. The ambience would suit some, but it felt too greenhousy for me."
"Almost wonderful but let down by overseasoning and very poor bread. I hope it ups it’s game as the concept of walled garden outside to plate is brilliant."
