Harden's survey result
Summary
In Hook Bank, a “really good gastropub” with designer touches and a menu encompassing both classics and more adventurous grub; it has split opinion in the past but, with “attentive” staff and an “overall relaxing” vibe, the majority “cannot really ask for much more”.
Summary
A stylish country inn with an “excellent restaurant” and views of the Malvern Hills; reports have been polarised in the past, but were uniformly solid this year. “The menu changes regularly, even for vegetarians and vegans”.
Summary
Reporters are evenly divided on this “former pub in the middle of nowhere”, which inspires a good deal of interest; while fans say that it’s a “very relaxed” spot, where the frequently changing menu “never disappoints”, critics find it merely “mediocre”, and are “sad to think this is regarded as one of the best in the Malvern area”.
Owner's description
Our food is prepared from fresh local produce and made from ‘scratch’, by a team of five talented chefs headed by Chris Exley and all sharing our vision and passion for quality food.
From the outside the Inn is located in a truly rural setting with quintessential English views of the Malvern Hills. When you step inside you will experience a genuine home-from-home atmosphere, flagstone floors, walls in muted colours, shabby chic furniture all unite to create a stylish and comfortable ambiance.
When the weather is warm enjoy lazy lunches or evening suppers in our terraced gardens with an external fireplace - we have cosy wool blankets to enjoy alfresco drinks as winter approaches, under our new glazed veranda. For that special occasion dine in private in our library themed room for up to 12 people.
Our philosophy is simple: — ‘attention to detail, value for money, aimed at the style conscious with discerning appetites’.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Inn at Welland Restaurant Diner Reviews

"Excellent meal at a reasonable price. Tables reasonably spaced in a pleasant modernised pub environment. The service was good and well trained without being intrusive. Starters at £8 of goats cheese mousse or haddock fish cakes were particularly good. The mains of Hake fillet was well presented and tasted excellent at £19. I will be back."

"Very, very busy - and therefore noisy - restaurant with a small bar at the entrance. Clearly it's extremely popular with reliable cuisine. Line caught Shetland cod, good steak. Wine list is not exciting but probably suits the clientele."
