“Set in a gorgeous spot looking out over the harbour in a surprisingly unspoilt village” – this “small bistro” is one of the better options for a meal in striking distance of St Davids: you get “sophisticated dishes of fresh-from-the-sea fish, plus friendly staff and a quaint ambience”. Fish ’n’ chips, here, are also some of the best: “melt in the mouth, crispy, light batter with the freshest of fish”.

“Idyllically located, right on the harbour at Porthgain, this “very rustic but charmingly so” bistro is “always friendly” and has a “simple and relaxed atmosphere”. It serves “fish as fresh as you’ll find: everything from traditional, wonderfully crisp and crunchy fish ’n’ chips to imaginatively prepared and delicious dishes” (e.g. “the best monkfish stew ever”). Sit outside in the summer overlooking the water”.

Reviewers disagree on the decor – “quirky”“very rustic”“simple and unpretentious”“dark, but has character” – but all acclaim this harbourside bistro for the “freshest possible” fish ’n’ chips.

A “rustic” yet “reliable” fish 'n' chip bistro, “right by the quay”, where the seafood is “fresh, basic and great”, and there are “old-fashioned chips” to go with it.
