The Violet Green is Norton’s newest restaurant. We offer a casual dining experience, serving uncomplicated yet refined dishes in a comfortable and informal setting in the basement of an old bank.
We’re open evenings for dinner Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm. Sunday Lunch from 12pm
Our menu focuses on local, seasonal produce made up of small and big plates. We also have a “Feed Me’ tasting menu designed for sharing or grazing, an ideal way to taste our menu, which is served gradually, as its ready, allowing you to relax, chat and eat freely.
Tables are first and foremost reserved for diners but you are welcome to call in for just a drink, with or without nibbles in our small cosy bar area.
All our meat is supplied by our local butcher, friends & neighbours Blackwell’s of Norton, our fish from local fishmongers Hodgson’s fish of Hartlepool and our fruit & vegetables from local growers & foragers, The Gourmet Garden of Sedgefield.
We’re small & a little hidden, but come find us below Norton Green.
