“You would not realise you are in Moss Side” at the Whitworth’s “beautiful” and “family-friendly” glass-walled conservatory, overlooking Whitworth Park. Its location (above all) and victuals make it an “excellent place for lunch”, with the “three daily changing salads particularly recommended”.

With a “pleasant outlook through the glass walls… even if you are in Moss Side”, the Whitworth’s “very friendly, well-run” café addendum makes a “wonderful setting for a tasty lunch or late breakfast”.

With “very friendly service”, decent tapas-style food and a “beautifully designed” glass room boasting park views, this addendum to the revamped Whitworth Gallery is something of a “model museum café/restaurant” – so much so that “you wouldn’t think you were in the notorious Moss Side”.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

A fabulous space. A cafe in an art gallery ...

"A fabulous space. A cafe in an art gallery overlooking a park. Healthy locally sourced ingredients. The star ofthe show must be the selection of three market salads which change daily and offer highly innovative and unusual combinations. A first rate concept well executed. Service is good too. I really don’t know why others (especially museums galleries and libraries ) don’t follow this model"
