Breaking news

July 2020: The Evening Standard reported that "Chef and restaurateur Scott Hallsworth has announced that his Soho pan-Asian restaurant will not reopen after lockdown. Hallsworth, who also founded Japanese izakaya restaurants Kurobuta, said on Instagram, “a combination of expensive real estate, greedy landlords… and Covid-19 means we’ve now come to the end of chapter two of the Freak Scene story”."

“I approached with trepidation… but everything was delicious!” – this “fun and laid-back”, open-kitchen dining experience in Soho delivers a “casual but impressive” meal centred on “surprising-in-a-totally-good-way”, Pan-Asian small plates, delivered by “dynamic” staff. A former pop-up – it’s the creation of an ex-Nobu team, with Aussie chef Scott Hallsworth and partner Phar Shaweewan.

Ex-Nobu head chef Scott Hallsworth and Phar Shaweewan’s storming pan-Asian pop-up has found a permanent home in Soho, in the small bar premises that formerly housed the original Barrafina. Early reports suggest it’s a worthy successor and award full marks to its super-freaky, tapas-y flavour-bomb dishes of Asian-Latino inspiration, washed down with a selection of cocktails.
