February 2020: Leach & Carter left this site to open their restaurant permanently as Manteca in Gt Marlborough Street (see also), and now their replacement Shaun Presland's four-month run of his restaurant concept Pacific has come to an end. Now, for 4 months from 10 March it will play host to ex-Dinner by Heston team Jack Croft and Will Murray and their pop-up restaurant, Fallow, which will focus on mostly plant-based small plates and sustainability.
Harden's survey result
In Crown Estates’s little restaurant enclave, just off Regent Street, the site that was Magpie (RIP) was relaunched in summer 2019 under an ‘agile approach’ that envisages ‘the ability to invite more creative partners on a short-term basis to add fresh, exciting ideas to London’s dining scene’. We think that may mean a series of pop-ups. First up: Chris Leach (Pitt Cue, Kitty Fishers et al) and David Carter (of Smokestak), whose menu will feature various hand-made salumi and hand-rolled pasta dishes.
Fallow at 10 Heddon Street Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Overpriced wines, most like to compensate for relatively well priced pasta. Not Italian style pasta, look elsewhere if you’re after delicate flavours"
"Absolutely stunning pasta. Pop up until End October 2019. Deserves to find the permanent site it is seeking."
"Some of the best and freshest pasta to be had in the West End. The salami was made in house and of an excellent quality. Service friendly and attentive. Cash free! "
