November 2019: Big Hospitality reports that - as Leach & Carter leave this site to open their restaurant permanently as Manteca in Gt Marlborough Street (see also) - Aussie chef Shaun Presland will take it over, to try out his Japanese-centred restaurant concept Pacific, also as a pop-up with a hope to securing a permanent site elsewhere.
Described online as a "restaurant residency focusing on hand-made pastas and in-house butchery / charcuterie by Chris Leach (Pitt Cue Soho, Sager + Wilde, Kitty Fisher’s) and David Carter (SMOKESTAK)"; there's also Amaro bar.

In Crown Estates’s little restaurant enclave, just off Regent Street, the site that was Magpie (RIP) was relaunched in summer 2019 under an ‘agile approach’ that envisages ‘the ability to invite more creative partners on a short-term basis to add fresh, exciting ideas to London’s dining scene’. We think that may mean a series of pop-ups. First up: Chris Leach (Pitt Cue, Kitty Fishers et al) and David Carter (of Smokestak), whose menu will feature various hand-made salumi and hand-rolled pasta dishes.
