Harden's survey result
“Always a winner” – Giorgio Locatelli’s Marylebone HQ maintains a big following thanks to its “expensive but good” cuisine, fine selection of Italian wines, and “impeccable service”. When it comes to the “luxurious” interior, its dim-lit and moody styling is starting to look “a little dated” to quite a few reporters, but even so the overall effect is described as “oddly agreeable” or “romantic”.
“Classic food is beautifully presented and served with an understated aura of luxury” in Giorgio Locatelli’s “dim-lit” (slightly ’90s) Marylebone HQ – one of London’s most “polished” Italian dining rooms (“at its best, nowhere else matches it”). Service is “slick” but prone sometimes to hitting the wrong note.
“A wonderful taste of Italy” inspires fans of Giorgio Locatelli’s “dark”, “classy” rather ’90s Marylebone HQ. The main man has seemed more in evidence this last year – “prowling the dining room to ensure all is well” – and ratings for the “lovingly crafted food” and service (mostly “courteous”, occasionally “stand-offish”) were higher across the board. “Expensive, but worth it”.
“Creative and expertly presented cuisine” has long made Giorgio Locatelli’s “civilised” Marylebone dining room one of London’s better-known Italian destinations; it is “hugely expensive” though, and while it feels “romantic” to some, it’s “too corporate” for other tastes.
Locanda Locatelli, Hyatt Regency Restaurant Diner Reviews
"I enjoy cooking from his cookbooks more than I enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Nothing wrong just didn’t have a wow factor"
"Deccor a bit hotel – like, but food great."
"If I were to have reviewed this restaurant prior to reading the Harden's review, I would have said exactly that. The food is very good, the service is slick but on occasion it misses. Personally, I love the ambience and the dimly room. I also love the round booths when dining with 4 or more. One of my most favourite Italian Restaurants in London."
