Owner's description

The best food in Italy is fresh, simple and true to its roots. Obicà is the home of authentic Italian food in South Kensington, bringing Italian families and locals together in stylish, relaxed surroundings. Our customers can enjoy dining al fresco or stop by for our daily aperitivo, a mini selection of salumi and mozzarella served when you purchase a drink between 5pm and 7pm.

The star of our menu is mozzarella di bufala DOP, made in Campania and delivered to us at its freshest. Classic, smoked or creamy stracciatella mozzarella is a must-order, accompanied by small plates of Italian ingredients chosen for their flavour and quality. Our menu represents our culinary pilgrimage across Italy, where we find sweet datterini tomatoes, black truffles from San Miniato and culatello di Zibello, the king of salumi. We offer more substantial plates, too, using traditional dried pasta from Gragnano and slow-risen pizza dough made with nutty, stoneground Petra flour.

Obicà South Kensington is part of a small family of restaurants founded in Rome in 2004. They all serve fresh, simple Italian food, but South Kensington is special because of its stunning upstairs room (perfect for celebrations and meetings), its discreet glass-roofed room on the ground floor, and its popular pavement tables. Visit us for aperitivo in the sun, a relaxed, authentic Italian meal with friends, or just to taste our super-fresh mozzarella.
