“Still a pub with a decent pint of real ale but with serious ambition to become a fine dining restaurant” – Liam Dillon’s year-old pub conversion was Estrella Damm’s Newcomer of the Year in its February 2019 Top 50 Gastropub Awards, and manages to steer a course between its pubby origins and “well-prepared and attractively-presented food”, be it from the à la carte or ten-course tasting menu.
The greige exterior hints at the contemporary and high culinary ambitions of this modishly converted pub. Too little feedback for a rating as yet, but chef Liam Dillon was the winner of this year’s Best Chef Award at the Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards. There are four-course and seven-course tasting menu options as well as the à la carte.
After a great first year of trading at The Boat Inn, we are continuing our efforts to focus our attention on creating a quality lead food and beverage hub in lichfield. Inclusion in this years Michelin Guide being a great stepping stone.
We are also proud to announce that head chef & owner, Liam Dillon, has been presented with the Best Chef Award at the Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards 2018!
We have been very fortunate to be able to refurbish the pub so our guests can relax in comfort with our selection of Fine beer, wine and cuisine.
New goals have been created with the new year, with the outside area for our own pigs aswell as our chickens.
