Kent farm and kitchen that offers both vegetarian and vegan tasting menus
Harden's survey result
“The first visit was amazing and I’m looking forward to returning”: Will Devlin’s “interesting tasting menus” (either the five-course ‘1/2-acre’ menu for £30, or the ten-course ‘full acre’ menu for £60) have Kent foodies in raptures, and this small, simple year-old venture (founded in April 2018) is the talk of the county. Part of the appeal are the “very generous wine flights and knowledgeable sommelier” to introduce them.
The Small Holding Restaurant Diner Reviews
"A return to this venue of gastronomic perfection! Their menu is even more impressive than last time as the place evolves. The “Full Acre” taster menu was quite exceptional, although I think it was nearer 13 courses than the ten suggested. Each course was a short voyage into fascinating flavours, textures and presentation. Not going to detail the menu, as, like a few other places I have visited, it keeps the detail as a surprise. Suffice to say my partner described the herbs adorning the dishes, as tasting like they had just been picked! Every course was delicious and presented beautifully, staff are lovely and the chefs come out to your table on at least one occasion to describe a course themselves. There is no doubt in my mind that this venues future is upwards (and after experiencing meals totalling 81 michelin stars so far) its only a matter of time before it joins the heady heights! Thanks folks perfection improved on from last time!"
"A little gem in the Kent countryside serving seasonal dishes, most of which are grown or reared on the restaurants one acre of land."
