The “stunning quality of the food” served at Keralan-born chef Anand George’s flagship over the past dozen years has made it one of Wales’s best known Asian restaurants. The subtly spiced cuisine is matched by “very efficient and professional service, so a meal here is like going to the theatre”. Top Menu Tip – “the sea bass in mango (aka ‘Tiffin sea bass’, chef Anand’s signature dish) is delicious”.

“Anand George's recipes celebrate Kerala and its cuisine” at this nouvelle Indian in the Cardiff ’burbs. Notwithstanding the odd gripe, all feedback here says the cooking is good or better.

“Superb Keralan food from chef Anand George” – formerly of Mint and Mustard – is to be found “in a surprisingly upmarket setting for a grotty Cardiff suburb”. The cooking is “refined and elegant, with delicate sauces”, and constitutes “a real gastronomic experience”“without doubt some of the best food in town”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
