For “elegance and luxury”, the Dorchester Collection’s spectacular mansion near Ascot, on a sizeable estate complete with polo pitches, certainly fits the bill. When it comes to the dining room and Adam Smith’s “first class cuisine”, “it’s maybe not the most creative, and would struggle to top the value-for-money rankings, but is certainly a safe bet for a fabulous meal”.
“A picture-book setting” amid polo fields and parkland (albeit easily reached from the M25) is the icing on the “delicious” cake at the Dorchester Collection’s ultra-plush, special occasion-friendly hotel. From tasting menus to à la carte, Adam Smith’s food is all “superb”; and “yummy” afternoon teas remain a highlight.
“That it’s reassuringly expensive, doesn’t seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the clientele” of the Dorchester Collection’s “delightful” country pile, set in “beautiful gardens” just a short drive outside the M25. Adam Smith’s “brilliant” cooking is available à la carte or from a 7-course tasting menu and service has “an eye for detail”. Top Tip – “fabulous afternoon tea, with the most delicious finger sandwiches!”
Another year, another chef – the merry-go-round shows no sign of slowing down at the Dorchester Collection’s “breathtaking” country house hotel, where former Roux Scholar Adam Smith was set to replace Simon Whiteley in summer 2016; ratings shown assume a continuation in standards.
