“Home-style Italian dishes that are plentiful and utterly delicious” (“they regularly change the menu”) have carved a major name for this small, family-run venture near Altrincham Market, which also benefits from its “chatty and informed served”. “They have not got too big and arrogant – even though they have expanded to two sites now they have kept the quality, and I know as it’s two minutes from my house!”
“A superb, and authentic variety of perfectly cooked pasta dishes”, using ingredients flown in weekly from Puglia, combined with the “passion” of brothers Michael and Alex Di Martiis have created a major buzz that surrounds this “basic and small” outfit near Altrincham market, which is so busy that you have to book a timed slot at a communal table. A bigger venue opened in Ancoats in summer 2018.
“A very busy, buzzy place” – this “inviting and casual” (albeit “small”) two-year-old Italian, handy for Altrincham Market, wins raves for its “honest food prepared with skill and passion” and delivering “strong flavours with flair” from a menu majoring in “authentic pasta dishes”. Following the launch of a next door deli/sandwich shop in 2016, a new sibling will join Ancoats’ growing foodie scene in early 2018.
Opened in summer 2015, this “tiny, tiny”, “hustling and bustling” Italian, handy for Altrincham Market, is already “rammed, as it should be” given “the best pasta this side of Milan”; a takeaway sandwich shop and deli, Sugo Shop & Panino, launched next door but one in March 2016.
Sugo Restaurant Diner Reviews
"We have had really good pasta this year from Sugo, but perhaps not as good as 2018? The opening of the new site has been disruptive. Still well worth a visit but booking essential and you only get 90 minutes if you are 2!"
