‘Local restaurant’ Lyle’s opens today

Styled as ‘a local restaurant for local people’, Lyle’s opens today (29 April) in Shoreditch’s old Tea Building. Founded by former Young Turk, James Lowe, the 48-cover, all-day dining room will offer British fare at reasonable prices. Lunch dishes range from £7-£15 and the set dinner menu is £39/head.

Lowe hopes that his prices will help make Lyle’s a go-to spot for the Shoreditch crowd, particularly the ready-made regulars living in the Tea Building’s loft apartments above the ground floor restaurant. The building is also home to Pizza East and Shoreditch House.

The venture is backed by the crew behind Gymkhana and Trishna with Lowe heading up operations in the kitchen and his business partner Jon Ogier managing front of house.
