London is to get its first Creole bar and kitchen, Bayou, courtesy of Chris Singham (the restaurateur behind Simply Fish). The restaurant, inspired by Singham’s travels through the American south, will open in Camden’s Inverness Street on 10 July.

Creole cuisine is an exotic mix of French, Spanish, African, Italian and southern American influences. As well as spicy jambalayas and gumbos, Bayou will serve a range of cocktails and US craft beers.

The 72-cover restaurant will also feature live music acts from jazz and honky tonk musicians.
