Truscott Cellar Bar Visualisation 1The Truscott Cellar in Belsize Park, a new 60-cover wine bar from Andrew and Mary Jane Fishwick, the owners of Maida Vale’s much-lauded Truscott Arms, will open towards the end of June. Spearheading the kitchen is Dinner by Heston and Launceston Place graduate Aidan McGee.

Michel Schranz Design and Architecture, well known for working closely with (now not so) YBAs Tracy Emin and Damian Hirst, will develop the site.  The Truscott Cellar will be set over two floors decked out with sustainable British wood and plenty of dark marble.

As the name would suggest there will be an emphasis on wine with a 300-strong list of bottles and 50 choices of wines by the glass. On the menu: The Truscott beef chips; the pig board; mushroom Welsh rarebit and roast root vegetable with Jersey Royal fondue; Cellar Skins with the likes of blackened Lancashire bacon, Wensleydale & truffle oil, creamed haddock & spring onion, and Wookey Hole cheddar & fried leek.
