Exciting news from the world of London cocktail clubs, the Experimental Group (behind Chinatown’s ‘so-hip-you-can-hardly-find-it’ drinking den The Experimental Cocktail Club) is opening a Shoreditch site. The new bar Joyeux Bordel will launch on Curtain Road on 16 April.

Young Turk Daniel Willis – now of The Clove Club – is consulting on the music. It’s not even open yet but already we can just imagine the difficulty of getting a table (or a barstool) at the 130-cover venue. Guests can expect a menu of cocktails with twists on classics, punches and an extensive champagne list.

The Experimental Group is independently owned by the founding ‘trois garçons,’ childhood friends Romée de Goriainoff, Olivier Bon and Pierre-Charles Cros, along with Xavier Padovani who became a partner in 2010 with the addition of London’s Experimental Cocktail Club. The new bar will be their third London venture joining Chinatown’s Experimental Cocktail Club and their wine bar Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels.
