Pedler arrives in Peckham Rye

We’re frankly sick of hearing that Peckham used to be all grotty markets and high rise flats – it ain’t been that way for some time so we’re calling for a moratorium on mentioning Del Boy and Rodders when referring to SE15. There, that was the last time.

Nowadays this corner of south London has become something of a restaurant hub (Peckham Bazaar, Peckham Refreshment Rooms, Ganapati, The Begging Bowl) and another dining destination has just joined the neighbourhood. Pedler, which opened in Peckham Rye this week, was set up by Taskin Muzaffer and Gareth Crosby – two Peckham locals who want to offer an all-day spot for brunch, lunch and dinner, coffee and cocktails.

Dishes include: Duck rosti, poached eggs and red onion chutney, smoked brisket with hispi cabbage and bacon sauce and smashed devon crab with piccalilli remoulade. As well as a wine list, the 70-cover restaurant offers an array of ‘Little Bird’ gin cocktails.
