Mark Hix to open standalone bar at The Old Vic

hix bar old vicMark Hix will open his first stand-alone Mark’s Bar at The Old Vic on 17 October 2015. This is the restaurateur’s third drinking den, the original Mark’s Bar Soho (below his restaurant on Brewer Street) was followed up with a second outpost in Bankside last year.

The bar at The Old Vic will be open until 2am Thursday-Saturday and 1am Monday-Wednesday.

Cocktails include: Pharmaceutical Stimulant: Merlet coffee liqueur, fresh coffee, dash of sugar); Temperley Sour: 3yr old cider brandy, Apple juice, Kingston black, lemon, sugar, egg white, morello cheery; and Dorset Donkey: Black Cow pure milk vodka, cherry eau di vie, lime, sage, seasonal berries, ginger ale.

There’s also a speedy menu of interval drinks such as: The HIX Fix – Temperley cherry and apple eau de vie topped with Tattinger Champagne;Vic’s Punch: Tangier gin, lemon sherbet, lemon juice, soda, fresh mint); and the Artist Special: Jameson whiskey, Pedro Ximenez sherry, lemon, red current syrup.
