Featured Padstow Restaurants
1. Paul Ainsworth at No. 6 British, Modern restaurant in Padstow 6 Middle St - PL28
Easily the best fine-dining restaurant in Padstow and some would say even better than Nathan Outlaw down the coast in Port Isaac Paul Ainsworths tiny old townhouse makes you feel special and delivers a short menu of absolutely superb cuisine tried and tested dishes sit alongside new and interesting offerings and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Top Menu Tip the bread n butter pudding has star quality.
2. Rick Stein’s Café British, Modern restaurant in Padstow 10 Middle Street - PL28
2016 Review: More relaxed and joyous than its glossier stablemate the Stein empires crowded and bustling No. 2 place provides a happy-making experience, combining different seafood options from a limited but interesting and reasonably priced menu, and a fun atmosphere.
3. Stein’s Fish & Chips Fish & chips restaurant in Padstow South Quay - PL28
2016 Review: This good-value yet tiny fish and chip shop from Cornwalls celebrity chef continues its upward turn; you have to queue outside for a bit, but it's worth it for great food (including brilliant gluten-free chips).
4. St Petroc’s Hotel & Bistro Mediterranean restaurant in Padstow 4 New Street - PL28
While it usually attracts some flak, this outpost of the all-conquering Jill & Rick Stein empire received (almost) uniformly positive reports this year from the lovely informal atmosphere to the classic refined cooking and comfortable beds
but oh, the size of those tables! (dinky and packed like sardines).
5. Rojanos in the Square Italian restaurant in Padstow 9 Mill Sq - PL28
Paul Ainsworth (of No. 6 in Padstow) seems to have the formula right at this vibrant and stylish Italian in the heart of town a good lunch stop which, amongst other dishes, is still serving the best pizza ever.
6. Seafood Restaurant Fish & seafood restaurant in Padstow Riverside - PL28
The Stein empires original flagship by this small Cornish fishing towns harbour is a UK dining institution, and for many fans its still one of the great places to eat the freshest fish from around the British Isles, with influences of cuisines from around the world. Its a huge operation nowadays though, and some regulars say that while theres nowhere nicer on quiet nights, that when busy they cram you in, and the noise is oppressive. Likewise, food that, at best, is not over-complicated and respecting the ingredients can when the kitchen is stretched seem slightly underwhelming and rather costly for a relatively simple meal.
